#imbringingbirthdays back

I think that I was on time with this one - just about and by the skin of my teeth!
The stamp set is from the annual catalogue, Floral Phrases. The photo isn't brilliant I'm afraid.

The card base is sahara sand with a layer of blushing bride on top. I then attached a white circle cut using the stitched shapes framelits.
The flower is 'painted' white with whisper white ink, then coloured with Stampin' Write markers and Stampin' Blends, enhanced with Wink of Stella. The wood grain paper is from the Wood Textures DSP stack.
A simple card but full of birthday wishes!

Catch Up

I'm playing catch-up.
This will come as no surprise to some of you - I always have a list as long as my arm. But truly, I've got so far behind since we got Lily, our bulldog puppy in August. Or should I say, Lily, our bulldozer since she just seems to barge her way through life. This week I'm dragging even more as I've been spending more time caring for her since she had an eye 'procedure' on Wednesday.
Add to this the fact that I mislaid an important piece of paper, my #imbringingbackbirthdays list - seems I'm not actually bringing back any birthdays, having lost the list it's now reappeared and I find that I've missed some of the birthdays on it, I'm going to have to make amends. Hence the panic in Lelly’s craft room. I've also had a devil of a job trying to get some decent photos and have just had to go with what I have.
I do love the Wood Textures DSP stack but hardly seem to use it, having just done an early pre-order from the spring/summer 2018 catalogue - one of the perks of being a demo, I pulled out the new silver embossing paste ( yep! It’s coming!) and Wood Textures DSP stack. But do you think I could find my masks? In desperation I pulled out an old pre SU mask from my stash and got to work.

The sentiment is quite pretty and is in one of the new sale-a-bration sets, a 2 box set called Happy Wishes - yes, another sneak peek. I coloured the flowers with our Stampin’ Blends and went over the larger letters with clear Wink of Stella to give a little bling. To embellish I layered up silver ribbon, mini silver sequin trim along with a clear button and silver cord (both retired) - these two items sparkle in the light. I think the card is much prettier in real life.
On this next card you’ll spot a sneak peek - again its a new sale-a-bration stamp set called Lots Of Lavender.

The central panel has been die cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits. The ribbon is white but has been coloured with rich razzleberry stampin' blend.

The fun panda on this card is in the Party Pandas stamp set, which is in the sale-a-bration leaflet.

You’re getting a few sneaky glimpses of upcoming product today! Thinking back to how popular the chickens were earlier this year, these stamps look set to be in demand. Again I’ve used stampin' blends, this time to colour some white sequins.
Today's final card is using the Daisy Delight stamps from the annual catalogue. Sometimes we get so excited to get the new goodies into our hands that we overlook those we already have. The sentiment, also from the annual catalogue is part of a stamp set named Just Add Text.
The centre of each daisy has a crystal clear button, I have a few of these in a retired tub from a little while back. A simply but pretty card.
Looking back over, I can see there's a predominance of pink! Very unusual for me!.
Happy crafting,
Lesley x

Coffee & Card November

Another week, another Coffee and Card session in my local Costa. I love these sessions, such fun!
We finally started on Christmas as I always like to kick November off with some thankful themed cards first.
As always, since it's a 'drop-in', the cards are achievable by beginners too.
Both cards have the same layout.
The first is using the Wise Men From Afar stamp set. I really love the way this card came out and, in fact, only one lady opted for the alternative card as their first choice!

The base card is night of navy with a layer of sahara sand on top. The inks are in those colours too. Ribbon is retired, the whole thing is lifted by a silver glimmer card star, die cut with the Starlight Thinlits Dies.

The alternative card focuses (heavily!) on snowflakes.

Base card in pool party with a crumb cake layer on top, inks in matching colours. The scallop punch and ribbon are retired....but I've learned not to get rid of my punches when they retire they just come in so handy!
Stamp set for both the snowflakes and sentiment is called..... Snowflake Sentiments!
I've another Coffee & Card session this week so I best go making some samples!

Just For Fun - November

Time to see my lovely ladies again at our Just For Fun Classes. Christmas in theme although, to be honest, most of them have already made more Christmas cards than I have!
As usual, the cards are designed to keep us crafting, are not bulky (which keeps postage costs down), and are fun to make.
On the first card we used the autumnal Painted Harvest stamp set. Making good use of the two Sunflower leaves stamps to make a wreath.

Great to have our new Stampin' Blends alcohol marker pens to colour the rhinestones, no longer clear, they are now a super cherry cobbler colour!

Our second card is a gatefold. Not a lover of deeper shades of green and red together as I find them a little on the drab side personally, but some of my ladies love the traditional combination. Here we've used cherry cobbler and garden green.

The Be Merry DSP works perfectly. The green circular card behind the sentiment was punched out with our starburst punch. The sentiment is from the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set and has been punched out using the Everyday Label punch. A little bling by way of gold sequins.
Inside there is a large panel for a personal message which has a few snowflakes stamped.

Our third card is in deep elegant eggplant which has been teamed up with smoky slate.
The stamp set is Wise Men From Afar. I used a star die (now retired) to make a mask through which to ink a background for the wise men. I'm afraid the photo is a little crooked.

Not sure if you can spot it in the photo but there are a few rays beaming down from the star, this is a stamp from a brand new saleabration stamp set called Amazing You. And, what's more is that there are some super coordinating dies too.
Yep, I DID say saleabration, we demonstrators are already preparing for January and it's launch....how on earth will I ever get my own Christmas cards done if I'm already mentally in January???
Back to the rays. The stamp itself was a little large for what I needed so I stamped onto a post it note, cut out a section and used the rest as a mask so that I only got a few 'rays' on my card. Smart, eh! The star is die cut with a die from the set.

Our final project was stamping a ceramic tree decoration. We used the Merry Mistletoe stamp set, again we coloured a rhinestone with cherry cobbler dark Stampin' Blend for Rudolph's nose. Finished with a little red ribbon (retired).

Hoping you're further ahead with your Christmas cards than I am, have a good weekend,
Lesley x

Q: How do I reserve my Stamparatus?
A: Normally you order Stampin’ Up! products through the online store; in this case, you will click the RESERVE link on the Stamparatus page which will take you to the reservation page. For step-by-step instructions, please see the How to Reserve Your Stamparatus Tutorial for Customers.

Q: What if I do not have a Stampin’ Up! customer account? A: To reserve a Stamparatus, you must have a customer account. To create one, click Create Account on the online store.

Q: Why does it take so long for the Stamparatus to ship? A: We will place an order with the manufacturer based on how many reservations are made during any given reservation window. Shipping dates depend on how long it takes the order to arrive in our warehouse after the tools have been manufactured.

Q: Will the available-to-ship dates be the same for all markets? A: Yes.

Q: Am I billed at the time I reserve my Stamparatus? A: No. You will be billed when you finalise and close your order.

Q: When will I be charged for the Stamparatus? A: When inventory arrives in the warehouse, we will add your reservation to a shopping cart. We will then send you an email notifying you that your Stamparatus order is ready. At this time you will pay for and finalise your order.

Q: Will I be able to add other products to my Stamparatus reservation? A: No. However, once your reservation is transferred to your shopping cart, you will then be able to add other items to your order. Important note: Please do not delete the Stamparatus from your order. We will not be able to add it back and you will lose your reservation.

Q: Will I be able to update my address when I open my shopping bag to complete my order? A: Yes.

Q: What if I change my mind and want to cancel my reservation? A: You can cancel your reservation at any time. To cancel, please see the How to Reserve Your Stamparatus Tutorial for Customers PDF.

Q: Will the tool be available in the 2018–2019 annual catalogue? A: Yes. Once the annual catalogue ordering period begins, you will be able to order the Stamparatus as you would any other product. Reservations will no longer be required, and there will be no limit on the number of tools you can order.

Q: Once the Stamparatus has been added to my shopping cart, how long will it stay there? A: Indefinitely. As with all products, it will be subject to temporary interruptions in availability depending on demand.

Q: When I close my order, can I take advantage of current Stampin’ Up! promotions? A: Yes.

Q: Can I participate in all three reservation periods? A: Yes.

Q: How many stamp placement tools can I reserve per reservation window? A: For customers, there is a limit of 1 per reservation window.

Q: How did we come up with the name Stamparatus? A: We landed on an innovative name by combining two words that speak to the end use of the tool as well as Stampin’ Up! branding.

Stamp: To impress a pattern or mark (especially an official one) on a surface, object, or document using an engraved or inked block or die or other instrument
Apparatus: The technical equipment or machinery needed for a particular activity or purpose
Stamp + Apparatus = Stamparatus

I really do believe that this is the best placement tool to be released....and I intend to one of the first inline!
Don't miss out on your chance to be one of the first to have this exciting tool in your hands - 9 pm this evening!

Onstage - Solihull 2017

So this weekend is our local Onstage event. An event we are all anxious to attend twice a year. We get together with other demonstrators to share our love of all things Stampin' Up!, meet with old friends, make new ones, swap cards, watch demonstrations, get training and ... get to see the Salebration information, next catalogue and some of the goodies therein!!!
I will be travelling up in the fairy bus along with my friend Kim and her team of fairies.
I haven't got any general swaps this time around, unusual for me, but I have prepared a few other bits to take with me.
First, a little Pot of Gold for each of the ladies I'm travelling with. They're filled with gold covered sweets - Belgian chocolate coins and Werthers.
A close up of one of the jars-
A gift for one of my downline who will be attending too.
Inside, a glass cup and saucer withe the words 'create, inspire, dream' written in gold.

Some ceramic tree decorations which I've stamped as a gift for some friends.
Not a great photo but you can just about see Rudolph's nose which is a rhinestone xoloured with one of our new Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends.
Some gift wrapped Prosecco Marshmallows, yum!

My Upline, Natalie always gives each of us a gift. I thought it would be nice to give one in return.

I do love the tiny embellishments - you can see one here a little more clearly-

At an event sometime back, she'd apparently liked a scarf which I'd given to Kim. The scarves are no longer available despite me trying to hunt one down! So I've got the nearest thing I can find, covered in stars as her team are the Stampin' Stars.
I love the silver edging on it too!

Finally a little card to share. It's for a friend who has moved house. I'm a little disappointed as it hasn't come out quite how I planned. I've popped it in the envelope and sealed and now realise that one of the trees is bent...not happy!
A little too late to change, ugh!
By the time you're reading this our event will be in full swing! If I can, I'll try to share some photos on my Facebook page so pop on there over the next couple of days.
Whatever you're doing, have a good weekend.

Black & White Christmas

I recently attended a demonstrator retreat run by Kim Fee & Charry Wijers and loved the cards so much that I decided to follow up with a class for my own ladies.
The class theme was Black & White Christmas and the ladies just loved it!
We made 8 cards. Four designs, 2 of each but on two of the cards we changed up just a little by adding gold foil card behind the houses to imitate light. On another we changed the rhinestone to a large metal rimmed pearl.
The dies, along with coordinating stamps, are available as a bundle or you can purchase each on their own.
First card, black and white version
 First card with the gold
Second card black and white version
 Second card with gold
Third card with faceted gem
Third card with large Metal Rimmed Pearl
The fourth card is a very different fold, as you'll see in the photos. The stamp set is Merry Mistletoe. For some reason the stamp set reminds me of Ikea! I just absolutely LOVE the delicate garland stamp in this set which is stamped on the inside of the card.

This is how it stands
Towards the end I told the ladies that we'd be making a bonus project as a surprise. Unlike the photo of my own bauble made on retreat, the ladies used silver ribbon instead of string.
Here it's shown in it's gift box

A close up....
The cards with gold behind were a little more fiddly but make a nice alternative.
Such a super set that I couldn't fail to share them. Thanks go to Kim for these.
The ladies were delighted with their makes and I hope you've enjoyed them too!
Have a good week,
Lesley x
